Is there anything that can be done about name stealing? I just had my name Illusion Of Ender stolen... makes me depressed even more than it pisses me off.

I feel like quitting the game now...

How was it stolen? You deleted your character and in the 5 minutes of making a new one, someone took it?

Isn't there a 2 hour hold on the name after deletion before someone can make it?

And names are really nobody's property. I've had 2 I particularly liked I gave to PvP characters that weren't available for use the next time I tried to name them.

It's dissapointing, but it's simply the way things are.

Edit: That hold might have been just after the official release of the game, for beta character names, so possible disregard that.

No, I deleted my character for a tombs group. They didnt need me after all, so I went to bed without thinking about it. I woke up and it was taken.

I found out who stole the name. He came on with the name Sartu Ethair. And he wants me to pay him cash for the name...

If you can, add this guy in game and tell him to have a heart. I've spent 700 hrs on that name... and he's had it for 5 hrs.

It's really not stealing. It's a shame you lost your name but you should have created a new character right away to preserve that name. If someone you know doesn't take the name just to piss you off then some random person could just snatch the name by pure chance anyways. The "thief" is an idiot though by trying to sell it back.

And I did give in and offer. I offered you all I have (98k) because I love the name. It's the one my friends know me by. I didnt offer because I agree with your methods.

Not a whole lot you can do, he didn't "steal" your name. You deleted your character, the name freed up, someone else used it for one of their characters. Just like you used it for one of yours. Bad luck I guess, but NOT stealing by any means. I mean yeah it's pretty dumb when people can't think of their own damn names, but that's life.
